Export your orders

Getting your order data out as a file, for accounts, analysis, or emailing past buyers.

Who this is for: Sellers doing bookkeeping, analysis, or a customer email.

Export

From Orders, export. You get a CSV containing the orders on your screen, so filter first if you want a specific period.

CSV opens in any spreadsheet application.

What to use it for

Bookkeeping. A record of sales for your accountant. Pair it with Stripe's own reporting, which has the fee and payout detail.

Emailing past buyers. The only way to reach people who've already bought — there's no built-in messaging. Export, filter to the offer, and use your own email tool. This is what you'd use after replacing a file, since updates don't reach past buyers automatically.

Analysis. Which offers sell, when, and at what rate.

Before you email past buyers

They gave you an email address to receive a purchase, not to be marketed to. Depending on where you and they are, sending marketing to that list may need consent you don't have.

Product updates about something they bought are generally safe. Promotions for other products usually aren't. Worth checking against your own jurisdiction rather than assuming.

Handling the file

It contains your buyers' email addresses. Treat it as personal data — don't leave it in shared folders, don't email it around, and delete copies you're finished with. Your privacy obligations to your buyers are yours as merchant of record.

If it doesn't work

  • The export is missing orders. A filter is applied. Clear it and export again.

  • The file won't open properly. Import it as CSV with UTF-8 encoding rather than double-clicking, if your spreadsheet app mangles special characters.
