How digital delivery works

What happens between your buyer paying and your file reaching them, and where you fit in.

Who this is for: Anyone selling digital offers, or deciding whether Koarge handles delivery well enough.

Updated

The sequence

  1. Your buyer completes checkout and Stripe confirms the payment.

  2. Koarge records the order.

  3. The drawer confirms the payment, shows the order details, and gives your buyer their download link there and then.

  4. Koarge sends two emails: a receipt, and a separate delivery email with the same download link.

  5. Your buyer opens the link and downloads the file.

You don't do anything. There's no queue to approve and no step waiting on you.

Once in the drawer, immediately after paying, and once by email. Both point at the same place, so a buyer who downloads straight away and a buyer who comes back a week later both work.

The email copy is the one that matters most — it's what they still have when the tab is long closed.

The download page

The link opens a page branded to you, showing the file type, the order number, when the link expires, and a button to download.

The link is unique to that purchase. It isn't a public URL to your file, and it can't be guessed.

Expiry and download limits

Every link is governed by two settings you control per offer:

  • Expiry — how long the link stays valid. Default 30 days.

  • Download limit — how many times it can be used. Default 5.

Once either runs out, the link stops working. You can always issue a fresh one, which resets the count. See Download limits and link expiry.

Two emails, not one

The receipt and the delivery are separate messages on purpose. The receipt is a financial record your buyer may keep or forward to an accountant; the delivery is the thing they act on. Combining them buries the download link inside a document people file away without reading.

If delivery fails

If a delivery email bounces or fails to send, you'll know. Koarge shows an alert on your Overview and on the order itself, with a resend option that lets you send to a different address. You also get an email telling you it happened.

Files are stored by Koarge

You upload once. Koarge stores the file and serves it over expiring links, so your file isn't sitting at a public address anyone can find.

If it doesn't work

  • Your buyer says no email arrived. Check the address on the order for a typo, and check whether a bounce was flagged. See A buyer can't get their file.

  • The link no longer works. It's expired or hit its download limit. Resend to issue a fresh one.

  • Your buyer closed the drawer before downloading. No problem — the delivery email has the same link.
