What Koarge can and can't see in your Stripe account
What access Koarge has to your Stripe account, what it actually uses it for, and how to take it back.
The permission Koarge asks for
When you connect, Stripe asks you to grant Koarge read and write access to your account. This is the standard permission Stripe gives to platforms that take payments on a seller's behalf — it isn't something Koarge chose to make broad, and there's no narrower option available for this kind of connection.
It's the same permission you'd grant any Stripe-connected platform. Stripe documents it in its Connect OAuth reference.
What Koarge uses it for
The permission is broad. What Koarge does with it is narrow:
-
Create the payment for each checkout on your site
-
Read the result, so it can record an order and send the buyer their receipt and file
-
Pick up refunds and disputes you handle in Stripe, so your Koarge orders stay accurate
-
Read your account status, so it can warn you if charges are disabled or tell you whether Stripe Tax is on
That's the working set — enough to run checkout and show you accurate orders.
What Koarge doesn't do
Koarge doesn't move money out of your account or change your payout schedule. Payouts run on Stripe's schedule, to your bank, controlled from your Stripe dashboard.
Koarge doesn't issue refunds. You issue them in Stripe. Koarge only records them once they've happened.
Koarge never receives full card numbers. Card fields at checkout are rendered by Stripe and submitted from your buyer's browser straight to Stripe. Card data doesn't pass through Koarge's servers at any point.
Everything is visible to you
Charges, customers, and anything else Koarge creates appear in your own Stripe dashboard. Nothing happens in a place you can't see.
Stripe also logs every action taken against your account. If you ever want to check what Koarge has done, that log is the record — and it's Stripe's, not ours.
Revoking access
Your Stripe account is yours, and you can cut Koarge off from either side:
-
In Koarge, from Setup → Stripe
-
In Stripe, from your account settings, where connected platforms are listed
Either way, the effect is the same: checkout stops, and nothing in your Stripe account or your Koarge account is deleted. See Connect your Stripe account.
If it doesn't work
-
You revoked access in Stripe and Koarge still shows connected. Reload your dashboard; it'll catch up.
-
Stripe won't let you connect. If your Stripe account was created through another platform and is controlled by it, Stripe blocks it from being connected to a second one. You'd need a Stripe account of your own.
