Your Stripe account is restricted

What a restriction means, why buyers can't pay, and how to resolve it — which happens in Stripe, not Koarge.

Who this is for: Sellers seeing a restriction warning, or whose payments have suddenly stopped.

Updated

What it means

Stripe has paused your ability to accept payments. Your Overview flags it prominently, because it's one of the few states where your buyers cannot pay you at all.

Everything on your site looks normal. Buyers reach checkout and fail.

Why it happens

Stripe restricts accounts for reasons of its own, and it decides them, not Koarge. Common causes:

  • Onboarding was never finished — missing business details, identity documents, or a bank account

  • Stripe has requested verification documents and hasn't received them

  • A dispute rate or refund pattern Stripe has flagged

  • The business activity doesn't match what Stripe was told at signup

How to resolve it

Open your Stripe dashboard. Stripe shows exactly what it needs from you, usually with a deadline. Provide it there.

Koarge can't lift a restriction, appeal it, or see why it was applied. That isn't us passing you along — Stripe holds the account and is the only party that can act on it. Going to Stripe directly is the fastest route.

Once Stripe re-enables your account, Koarge picks it up automatically and the warning clears. You don't need to reconnect or republish.

While you're restricted

Existing orders are unaffected. Buyers who already purchased can still download, until their links expire or hit their download limit. Your offers stay as they are.

It's only new payments that fail.

If it doesn't work

  • Stripe says you're enabled but Koarge still shows restricted. Reload your dashboard. If it persists more than a few minutes, contact support.

  • You can't tell what Stripe wants. Contact Stripe support directly — they can see your account, we can't.
