What your buyers can pay with

The payment methods available at checkout, and the currency your buyers are charged in.

Who this is for: Sellers checking whether their buyers will be able to pay, and setting prices.

Cards

Checkout accepts major credit and debit cards through Stripe — Visa, Mastercard, and American Express among them. Exactly which cards work depends on your Stripe account and country.

Buyers don't need an account with anything. They enter their card details and pay.

Stripe Link is available at checkout. It's Stripe's own saved-details service: a buyer who has used Link before on any Stripe-powered site is recognized by email and can pay in one click without retyping their card. Buyers who haven't used it are offered the chance to save their details at the end.

There's nothing to set up, and nothing changes for you. The payment underneath is still a card, so your payout, Stripe's fee, and refunds all work exactly as they otherwise would.

Your selling currency

Offers are priced in the default currency of your connected Stripe account. If your Stripe account is set to CAD, your offers are priced and charged in CAD. That currency is set when you create your Stripe account, based on your country and bank account.

You sell in one currency at a time. You can't price one offer in CAD and another in USD, and buyers can't choose their own currency at checkout.

Buyers in other countries

Buyers anywhere can pay you. Someone in Germany buying a CAD-priced offer is charged in CAD, and their bank converts at whatever rate it applies. Their card issuer may add a foreign transaction fee — that's between them and their bank.

Your buyer sees the currency clearly at checkout, so there's no surprise. But a price in an unfamiliar currency does cost some sellers conversions, which is worth knowing if most of your buyers are abroad.

Card details never touch Koarge

The card fields at checkout are rendered by Stripe and submitted straight to Stripe from your buyer's browser. Koarge's servers never receive a full card number. See What Koarge can and can't see in your Stripe account.

If it doesn't work

  • A buyer's card is declined. Declines come from the buyer's bank, not from Koarge. They should contact their bank or try another card.

  • You're testing and every card fails. Real cards are declined in test mode by design. Use a Stripe test card.

  • Your prices show in the wrong currency. That's your Stripe account's default. Change it in Stripe, not in Koarge.

  • A buyer asks to pay another way. There's no way to take payment outside checkout and still have Koarge deliver the file automatically.
