Go live: switching from test to live mode

Switching to live mode so real buyers can pay you, and the one mistake that costs sellers real sales.

Who this is for: Sellers who've tested successfully and are ready to sell.

Updated

Before you switch

Run through this once:

  • Stripe is connected and your account is enabled for charges

  • Your offer is active.

  • Your Framer site is published with the checkout button on it

  • You've completed a test purchase end to end

Switch to live mode

Switch the mode toggle to live. Your checkout now takes real cards and real money reaches your Stripe account.

The mistake to avoid

A published site left in test mode won't take a single real sale. Your buyers reach checkout, enter their card, and get declined — because test mode refuses real cards by design. They'll assume your site is broken and most won't come back to try again.

Nothing in your dashboard will look wrong. No failed order appears, because no order was ever created. The only sign is silence.

Koarge shows a banner on your Overview whenever your site is published and you're still in test mode. Don't dismiss it and move on. Fix it.

After you switch

Test orders stay in their own view. Live orders start appearing under Orders, and your revenue totals begin counting from your first real sale.

Consider buying your own offer once with a real card, then refunding yourself. It's the only way to see exactly what your buyer sees.

If it doesn't work

  • The banner won't clear. Confirm the mode toggle actually saved, then reload your dashboard.

  • Real cards are declined. Your Stripe account may not be fully enabled for charges yet. Check Setup → Stripe for a restriction notice.
